Travel to Kurdistan Region of Iraq

Foreigners enter the territory of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) through border-control points. For entry a foreigner must have a valid passport, entry visa or a document of residency status unless Iraqi laws or international agreements define no other procedure. Minor foreigners may enter Kurdistan Region of Iraq accompanied by parents, a parent or any other legal representative or if one arrives to his/her parents, a parent, other legal representative or a receiving organization. If a foreigner arrives in Kurdistan Region of Iraq without a valid identity document or visa, or if he/she is refused a Kurdistan Region of Iraq visa, he/she cannot enter the territory of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and must return to his country of origin or the country from which he/she arrived, unless the aim of his/her arrival is to seek asylum or refugee status.

Foreigners can leave Kurdistan Region of Iraq upon a valid passport and a document validating their prior stay in Kurdistan Region of Iraq if laws or international agreements of Kurdistan Region of Iraq define no other term.
